The Colorado Mountains (Life Relaxation Exercise 3)

You are on a camping trip with your family in the Colorado Mountains. The sun’s rays seep into the seams of your tent and you slowly sit up, unzip your tent, and crawl out of the space and into the outdoors. You gaze all the way up to the sky and marvel at the height of the majestic mountains. You stretch in preparation for your active day. You start to run with excitement and energy, and when you reach a hill of rocks, you eagerly climb up them, determined to reach the top. You notice a stream to your left and splash the cool fresh water on your face, and then proceed to climb. Then, you take your last step on the highest rock. You’ve reached the top! “Hooray!” You sit on a rock and quietly enjoy the view.

At the Zoo

You are at the zoo with your family on a sunny summer day (reach up to the sky and slowly lower back down and say, “ahh”). You smile widely as you walk through the grand entrance. You glance left and right seeing the lions and peacocks, and suddenly see from a distance your favorite animal, the giraffe (left hand over forehead, point with right hand)! You motion your family to follow you to them. “Come see!” You walk up to them and look up at their long necks, waving excitedly. “Hello!” Then you march over to the penguins and watch them lazily waddle around. What a lovely day at the zoo.
